Prof. Dr. Uwe Specht

Prof. Dr. Uwe Specht, born on Sept. 21st., 1943, studied political economics in Cologne, Bonn, and Freiburg, and was attained a doctoral degree in 1969 in Freiburg.

Following his studies, he was active in Henkel Group, among other countries in Switzerland and France. In 1977, he became marketing director in Henkel’s cosmetics division in Düsseldorf; from 1980 to 1985, he lead the central department for cosmetics as a member of the board of directors.

From 1985, Prof. Specht was in charge of the cosmetics department as member of Henkel KGaA’s board of directors. In 1990, his appointment to individually liable managing partner of Henkel KGaA followed. Prof. Specht retired in 2005.

Prof. Specht continues to be active in numerous national and international committees. Additionally, he conducts business in the internet and marketing sector.

Since 1989, Prof. Specht lectures on marketing, communications, and brand management at Köln University.
