energize the earth - buy the sun

The solar future

It is our firm conviction that solar energy is the best answer to the greenhouse effect and to avoiding carbon dioxide (CO2). The sun is readily available worldwide, its energy potential is free, abundant, inexhaustible, and on-hand for billions of years. The sun’s irradiation of just one hour provides already more energy than the whole world population requires in a year. Or, to make it a little less abstract, within just 8 minutes enough solar radiation hits the country of Germany to provide all the energy that is required by households, transport and industry in one year.

The oil, gas, carbon, and uranium resources are constantly depleting. However, over the past few years, photovoltaics has developed to become a sustainable alternative to traditional energy generation. In the past years, the photovoltaic world market has had an annual growth of about twenty-five percent. This growth rate is expected to remain stable until at least 2010. New, upcoming and fast growing solar markets as for example Southern Europe, South Korea, China and the U.S. reinforce this boom of the solar industry and make a valuable contribution to global climate protection.

A clean investment

In order to reach global goals for climate protection many countries have introduced support and incentive programs. In Germany, solar electricity (as well as other forms of renewable energy) is supported by the Law for Renewable Energies, called “Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz (EEG)”. This means that all solar electricity that is fed to the public grid will be rewarded a fixed price (feed-in tariff). This way a solar system is not only a clean, but also a highly profitable investment. Especially, since the feed-in tariffs are guaranteed for the next 20 years.
